Around the turn of the last century, women began abandoning the sidesaddle, creating a demand for a “ladies astride saddle.” Practical, ultra-light astride saddles were offered by all of the major saddleries. The demand for a lightweight saddle is as strong as ever. To answer that need Pedrini captured the essence of the classic astride saddle with this elaborately quilted version that offers both comfort and style. The polished white bronze horn complements the hand engraved sterling silver mountings by Scott Hardy. The saddle is constructed on a classic 15 1/2 inch 3B tree handmade by Bob Hamm of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, and weighs just 23 pounds. Stand included.

Jean-Pierre “Pedro” Pedrini was born in France in 1952. He discovered an interest in Western riding and leather craft as a youth, which inspired several trips to the United States to learn saddlemaking skills. In 1984, he came to stay. He established the Pedrini Saddle Company in 1990, became a United States citizen in 1992 and a TCAA member in 2007. Named 2008 Saddlemaker of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists, Pedrini and his son, Tony, reside in Pendleton, Oregon.
