Shane R. Hendren was born into a ranching family in New Mexico, USA, where he grew up with a strong work ethic and appreciation for the culture and traditions of his forbearers. From an early age, he was aware of the equipment that the cowboys around him used and was enamored by it. He learned that the quality of a person's equipment reflected their dedication to their vocation and respect for their equine partners. He did copious amounts of research about the cowboy arts and their long and varied tradition, which only deepened his admiration of the work and the people who dedicated their lives to producing it. He has dedicated over twenty years developing his skills as a metalsmith, focusing his production on jewelry. He says, "I don't just create jewelry. I create heirlooms that will outlive me and become my legacy."
