1998 Prix de West Collectors' Bolo by Richard Greeves

The 1998 Prix de West Collectors’ Bolo was designed by renowned Western sculptor Richard Greeves, whose work is celebrated for its sensitive and meticulously researched portrayals of Native American subjects. Greeves developed a lifelong connection to the Northern Plains, spending decades living and working among Native communities in Wyoming and drawing upon those experiences throughout his career. His sculptures are distinguished by their attention to historical detail, authenticity, and dignity of character.

Greeves has a distinguished history with Prix de West. His bronze sculpture In the Land of the Water People received the Prix de West Purchase Award in 1977, and in 2000 he was honored with the Prix de West James Earle Fraser Sculpture Award.
