About Our Bolo Ties

The bolo tie is a classic Western neckwear accessory that can be worn for a variety of occasions and dressed up or dressed down.  Bolo ties are usually made with a braided leather cord and decorative slide or pendant. The ends of the cord often feature metal tips.  Bolo tie slides or pendants are often crafted from sterling silver, bronze, and gold, and they may feature turquoise or other stones.

Exclusive to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is our collection of Prix de West bolo ties. Each year, the Museum commissions a Prix de West artist to design a bolo tie in conjunction with the annual Prix de West Art Exhibition and Sale. These bolo ties are highly collectible, wearable works of art. These bolo ties come with a braided horsehair cord.
