About the Artist: Paul Moore

Paul Moore is an internationally known artist with work in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, the U.S. Capitol Collection, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, the Brookgreen Gardens collection and numerous museum, corporate, municipal and private collections worldwide.

In 2019, Moore and his two sons completed the Oklahoma Land Run Monument in Oklahoma City, which consisted of 45 life-and-a-half elements. It took 20 years to create this massive monument. In addition to this, he has created 163 other commissions that are spread throughout the world.

At the 47th annual Prix de West in 2019, Moore won the prestigious Ann Noble Brown Prix de WestPurchase Award and the Robert Lougheed Memorial Award. In 2020, he was given the National Sculpture Society’s highest honor, the Special Medal of Honor, for his contribution to American sculpture. Three years ago, he won an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for a documentary about his life and career for OETA/PBS and, in 2013, he won the Governor’s Arts Award from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Moore is a fellow of the National Sculpture Society and an emeritus member of the Cowboy Artists of America. In his nine years as an active member of the Cowboy Artists of America, he won sixteen awards at their annual exhibition, four of them Best of Show.
