About the Artist: Abigail Gutting

Hometown: Hayden, Idaho
3 Pieces in Show
3 Years in Exhibition

Abi Gutting paints to portray the culture and wildlife of the American West. Her early training began as a young child when her artist mother, Susan Gutting, allowed Gutting to work
alongside her in the studio. She has also studied via workshop instruction throughout the Western United States, including several at the Scottsdale Artist School in Arizona.

Gutting’s work has been featured in Southwest Art MagazineWestern Art & ArchitectureArt of the WestWestern Art Collector and Fine Art Connoisseur. She participates annually in the March in Montana Auction in Great Falls, Montana, and Night of Artists at the Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas.

While she credits her mother for inspiring and cultivating her love of art, Gutting’s love of animals and the American West were fostered by time spent working with her veterinarian father through her teens and into her early 20s. The memories from those experiences are rich and contribute to Gutting’s vision for her art. She looks forward to a lifetime of growth and opportunity as an artist.

Gutting lives in the mountains of northern Idaho.
