Tony Hochstetler is a sculptor of unusual animals and botanical subjects. His repertoire of work revolves around reptiles, amphibians, insects, marine life, and the occasional odd mammal. Born and raised in northern Indiana, he spent his childhood in the forests, fields, and wetlands studying the natural world around him.

A self-educated and seasoned sculptor, Hochstetler and his work have been featured in many publications, including Art Review, Southwest Art, Sculpture Forum, and Wildlife Art, and in the books Masterworks of American Sculpture; Reptiles & Amphibians in Contemporary Art; and Sculpture of the Rockies: 97 Contemporary & Traditional Artists. His work resides in the Benson Park Sculpture Garden, Loveland, Colorado; the Denver Zoological Gardens; Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, Oklahoma; the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, Wyoming; the Wichita Art Museum, Kansas; and in city collections and important private collections.

He has had several one-man shows and participated in numerous gallery invitational and museum exhibitions throughout the country. He is a member of, and has won various awards from, the Society of Animal Artists, the National Sculpture Society, and Northwest Rendezvous. He is a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists.

Most recently his work has been exhibited at the Gilcrease Museum as a featured Rendezvous artist, the National Academy of Design, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the National Sculpture Society’s Masterworks of American Sculpture: Selections from Members of the National Sculpture Society, 1875-1999, and various other shows.

Hochstetler currently lives in Frederick, Colorado, where he continues to seek out and research unique subjects.
