An exquisite variation on the historic Tapia-style pattern, these double mounted spurs feature inlays of heavily sculpted sterling and fine silver with accents of rose and yellow gold, along with 2 1/4-inch silver inlaid rowels and high relief engraving.

A bit and spur maker and Western silversmith since 1990, Ernie Marsh’s passion for ranching, horses, the American West and its cowboy culture have inspired him to pursue excellence within his profession. Grateful to have been mentored and influenced by master makers of the last generation, Marsh has worked toward promoting and carrying on the tradition and skills that were passed to him. With function as the primary basis of his designs, his artwork and unique style have influenced a younger generation of craftsmen while gaining the respect of horsemen and collectors. As a founding member of the TCAA, he has exhibited annually at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum since 1999 as well as other exhibits in Alpine, Texas; Flagstaff, Arizona; Elko, Nevada; and the Brinton Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming. Recognition Marsh has received includes the Academy of Western Artists Spur Maker of the Year, 2000; United States Artists Association Katie Weitz Fellowship in Traditional Arts, 2016; National Endowment for the Arts National Fellow in Traditional Arts, 2025; and the Wyoming Governor Arts Award, 2025. With his wife, Teresa, he continues to operate a full-time shop at their home near Lovell, Wyoming.
