The squash blossom necklace serves as a reminder of the close interaction between the Pueblo and Navajo Native Americans beginning in the 1800s. While the entire necklace has taken its name from one type of bead, the classic squash blossom necklace actually has three distinct parts: the plain round beads; the round beads with the “petals,” so to speak; and the crescent-shaped pendant at the bottom called the Naja. The squash blossom necklace is a reflection of history, art and culture.

This stunning piece by Mary Teller features bright red ovals of coral and hand-stamped sterling silver. Its elegantly simple design makes it easy to dress up or down, completing any Western jewelry collection.
