Joe Kreger has been suffering from “Cowboy Poetitis” since the mid-1990s. His first poem, “The Salt Fork” was the result of thoughts he had when the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River flooded the ranch headquarters.

Since then, Joe has been writing cowboy poetry. He has made numerous public appearances and published two books, “Lookin’ at Life” and “Still Lookin’,” and two recordings, “Small Pleasures” and The Code.”

People are captivated by Joe’s plain and simple way of writing about plain and simple things. He draws you in and you don’t want to blink for fear of interrupting the rhythm of the story. Joe’s poetry explains the world in terms of cows, cowboys, horses, dogs, and nature. He can take the most perplexing problem or human condition and break it down to make it fit into one of these components.

Joe Kreger writes from his home in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
